Just Lettin’ My Hair Down

After my last post, which I mulled over forever… I started thinking about how hard it is to truly be honest about heartache, sin and disappointment when you are leading more than just yourself.   Because of that, I think there are a lot of minister’s wives that are dealing with things in the quiet of their own prayer time.  Which is definitely vital and important, but I think we need more.  It’s so hard to feel like you are dealing with things on your own, especially when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I want to take a chance and really get to the heart of what this blog is for.  At it’s very core, this is for the wives who just need an outlet or a safe place to visit.  A place that confirms they are not alone.  I won’t have all of the answers…but someone’s comment may be just what the doctor ordered.  I may be young, but I would love for wives who have been around the block a few times to feel free to leave their input and wisdom.

I’m thrilled to be in a thriving church, with senior pastors that love and care for Barry and I.  They are a blessing to us and to the entire congregation.  Their wisdom and love seems never-ending and for that reason I have ventured out to write this blog.  I’m in a safe place, I can share my heart freely and I long for others to have the same.  Some of the topics that I will be writing about over the next couple of weeks will apply to me either now or in the past and some of them will be recollections from other wives on the topics near and dear to their hearts.

So, stick with me, my friends and fellow wives.   There is more in store for us as women and minister’s in our own right.  My prayer is that our souls would prosper and our relationship with our First Love would be strengthened.  May we all let our hair down, and make a decision to rejoice with each other in the victories and pray for each other in the moments of despair.

Much Love,

  1. This is exactly why I started my blog. Not only do I hope others will identify with my struggles, but I know that I need a safe place to convey my struggles in this venture I’m about to begin and also a place to celebrate. I’m glad to be on this journey with you and look forward to more wisdom. 🙂

    1. I’m excited to keep up with your new life as a PW through your blog! You are going to do great and it is so fun to have extra support along the way.

  2. How exciting, I really look forward to your future posts, can’t wait to see what you are going to write about 🙂 and yes I agree we really need to support each other so we don’t feel so alone on this journey. Thanks so much for an excellent blog xxxx
